How To Fight Wrinkles With Restylane

Published on August 9, 2011

Restylane is an anti-wrinkle treatment, offered at Manhattan Dermatology & Laser Center, used to enhance the appearance of the skin by making it look more youthful. It is a non-surgical treatment that is generally aimed for patients aged 35 to 60, and the procedure is conducted here in our Manhattan office.

The effects of this injectable filler – Restylane

Restylane injections can dramatically reduce the appearance of facial lines, other skin imperfections and it can also rejuvenate the skin. After being treated with this injectable filler, hydration levels of the skin are instantly increased, as it restores volume and lifts the skin.

There are many ways in which Restylane can enhance the look of skin, including the correction of:

  • frown lines
  • smile lines
  • wrinkles around the eyes
  • crow’s feet
  • wrinkles around the cheeks, nose and also around the lip area
  • reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.

What can you expect from Restylane treatment in Manhattan?

The patient can expect full results from a Restylane treatment usually after one week. In comparison to other procedures which can improve the appearance of the skin, such as chemical peels or microdermabrasian, Restylane has been proven to be a superior treatment in correcting and eliminating even the deepest wrinkles. For the majority of patients, Restylane injections are extremely effective, as it reduces wrinkles by about 80 percent.

Following the procedure, the patient can expect to see results for 6-12 months, which is dependent upon the area of the skin that was injected. Since results achieved from Restylane are not permanent, follow-up treatments may be needed to maintain results.
