David Kriegel, M.D.David Kriegel, M.D. is a nationally recognized Mohs skin cancer, cosmetic and laser surgeon. He is the director and founder of Westchester Center for Dermatology in Scarsdale. Under his guidance, the center has become a nationally recognized facility for all apects of dermatologic, skin cancer and cosmetic needs.

Dr. Kriegel’s academic orientation has allowed the Westchester Center for Dermatology to share its state-of-the-art approach to medicine with the greater medical community and as such, it has become a satellite academic site for Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s skin cancer and cosmetic fellowship program.

Dr. Kriegel has been practicing Mohs micrographic and laser surgery since 1994. He completed his undergraduate degree at Columbia University; his medical school and residency training were completed at hospitals affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine; and his 2 year fellowship in Mohs and Reconstructive Surgery was completed at SUNY Stony Brook. He is currently the Director of the Division of Dermatologic and Mohs Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, a position that he has held since 1997. Dr. Kriegel has also been the Director of the Mohs Surgery Fellowship program at Mount Sinai Hospital since 2003. This program is one of 36 nationally accredited programs by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

In addition, Dr. Kriegel has published many academic articles and book chapters on Mohs surgery, skin cancer and dermatologic surgery. He has lectured throughout the United States on skin cancer and cosmetic procedures. He has been a featured expert in numerous articles in magazines including Cosmopolitan, Readers Digest, Good Housekeeping, and Redbook. He has been quoted and interviewed on news programs across the United States. He has been recognized as a skin cancer expert in the New York Times Letters as well as by Lou Dobbs on CNN.

Finally, Dr. Kriegel has been recognized by New York Magazine’s Best Doctors issue for the past 10 years for his abilities in the practice of Mohs and Cosmetic Surgery. He has been recognized by The New York Times Super Doctors issue for the past 8 years. He has also been recognized by Castle Connolly in their America’s Top Doctors editions for the past 10 years and in America’s Top Doctors for Cancer for the past 8 years.

Dr. Kriegel’s practice is restricted to Mohs skin cancer, cosmetic and laser surgery. He sees patients from across the United States, Canada, South America as well as Europe.
