Restylane Reduces the Appearance of Age Lines

Published on June 20, 2018

Have you been noticing new age lines and wrinkles appearing on your face? Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to smooth away wrinkles and reduce the appearance of other signs of aging such as volume loss. Restylane is a filler that provides a reprieve from age lines and offers results that look natural – and it may be right for you.

Restylane – How It Works

Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid. This substance already exists in the skin and the joints. For the skin, the functions of hyaluronic acid are to provide cushioning inside the dermal layers and to keep the skin hydrated.

With age, the reserves of hyaluronic acid begin to dwindle, causing age lines to appear on the skin. With Restylane injections, you can add hyaluronic acid to your skin and do away with signs of aging.

Hyaluronic acid has the property to bind to moisture inside the skin. When injected, it immediately attracts water molecules to itself, and the result is plump skin that radiates and glows. The plumping effect causes the wrinkles to fade and fills the hollow spaces in the cheeks.

Restylane works by using the right size of particles in the filler material. Dr. Kriegel will determine the size of the particles based on your skin’s requirements. For example, finer particles are useful for fine lines, whereas medium-sized particles are more suitable for severe and moderate folds and wrinkles. If your wrinkles are extremely severe, Dr. Kriegel may recommend larger particles. Larger particles can also add greater volume to the cheeks.

Dr. Kriegel will inject Restylane into your face where wrinkles are present. There is no recovery period needed with Restylane, so you can have the treatment and continue with your day’s work as usual.

Restylane Injections – Uses and Benefits

Restylane injections can address various age-related skin concerns. You can use Restylane to smooth away a number of facial folds, enhance and define your lips, and add volume to the cheeks.

One of the benefits of Restylane is that it doesn’t affect the appearance of your expressions. It doesn’t affect muscle movements, because it is not a muscle relaxer. If you are someone who has been avoiding injectables for fear of sporting a frozen face, Restylane may be the right product for you.

Restylane is safe to use. Hyaluronic acid is a safe substance to inject into the skin, as it is present in the body naturally. The hyaluronic acid used in Restylane is a synthetic version of natural hyaluronic acid and is made in a lab.

Use of Restylane requires no allergy tests and causes no adverse reactions. Restylane is perfect for those who are allergic to animal-sourced substances used in cosmetics/skin treatments.
